Jason Christiansen – Guide
Jason has been hunting as long as he can remember. He was plinking anything that flew with his Red Rider at 4 years old. Jason’s father and all his friends would leave to go on a grouse hunt. Jason remembers standing in the driveway crying as they drove off. Back then it was legal to road hunt and his job was to hold the dogs in the back of the truck and when stopped and there was a sporting kill he got to let the dogs go.
He spent most of his youth trapping coons and hunting pheasants; it was not until high school that he started hunting waterfowl and that soon became his passion. After returning back to Nebraska from his time served in the Army, all he wanted to do was hunt – mostly waterfowl. Being outside and watching game work to a decoy or watching a dog track a bird is about the most peaceful thing he knows.
While guiding at 777 Hunts, Jason’s favorite part is meeting the different people. He tells his wife that guiding for 777 Hunts is just taking a walk with new friends. He gets to meet some great folks and experience what he loves with them.
Anything outdoors is engaging to Jason. He likes the mornings when the world comes alive and seeing all that God created, wake up. Hunting, camping, boating, and outdoor cooking are a few of his favorites.
Jason has over 40 years of experience hunting and shooting. This includes over 10 years of guiding waterfowl, and he’s been guiding upland since 2012.
As an occupation, Jason is a Feed Segment Operations Manager for Cargill. When we asked Jason what his favorite hunting dog breed is, his response was, “Lab, is there another breed? They are the best with kids and will be yours till their end. I’m not sure what a lab cannot do… they are versatile!”
